FIRST BELIEVERS IN A LOCAL CHURCH

When the gospel is first preached in a place, there are those who believe and become the first-fruits of that place. Twice the Apostle refers to the spiritual first-fruits of Achaia.

Romans 16:5

'Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.'

1 Corinthians 16:15

'I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to ministry of the saints,)'

Alfredo and his wife were some of the first to receive Christ in our first church plant in 2014 here in Toluca, Mexico. This is a very special couple and family to us.

There is something special about those first believers in a new church plant.

After being saved they begin to invite their family to church and in December of 2014, their daughter and son-in-law got saved. Since that time we have seem all their children and many grandchildren come to the Lord. What a blessing it has been to baptize each of them and see the Gospel's impact on many generations!

Victor was riding his bike past our new church plant (Vision Baptist Church) earlier this year when he decided to come in and talk with us. This was a person that was already searching for truth and had read the Bible many times in the past. He received the Gospel message and kneeled to pray with me. Since that time his now wife has been saved and God is working in the lives of their two young boys. This family has been changed by the Gospel!

I will never forget that night when Victor kneeled to receive Christ as his Savior!
